HW Plan for 26th April-3rd May:

Plan for 19th April:

Plan for 12th April:

Plan for 5th April:

  • Review any questions from last week/school/tutorial
  • Using GC for numerical differentiation
  • Discuss the new topic: tangents
  • Notes for all the differentiation applications: Differentiation Applications Summary Notes
  • Drill work on tangents (Using the modified worksheets passed to you)
  • If time permits, a discussion of the other applications: increasing/decreasing graphs, maximum/minimum/stationary points

Google Drive I will be storing files in for this period of time: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12mPA4orUqB3d098ZCfGR5qiwAWbOJHtB?usp=sharing

29th March-5th April:

  • Finish up questions in Differentiation techniques: exercise 4

Plan for 29th March:

  • Check on what went on in school the past week + your questions
  • Continue work on differentiation: today we will work on the differentiation techniques (including chain rule) for exponentials and logarithms.
  • Drill work on logarithm and exponential: Exponential and logarithm differentiation worksheet
  • (I believe this worksheeet is passed to you already).

Questions relevant to us for "Exercise 4":

  • Section A: Q1 (all)
  • Q2a,c,d
  • Q3a,b,c,e,f
  • Q4a,b,g
  • Misc Exercise: Q1(i),(ii),(iii)
  • Q2a, 3a, b
  • Q5a, 6, 9, 11

After we get more comfortable with these techniques we will move onto the first application of differentiation: finding the equation of the tangent to a curve. I will discuss the concepts and the relevant questions in the tangent worksheets when we get there.
